The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Aniguiin in their matchups with Shishmaref: they've now lost nine in a row.
Shishmaref found their leader in underclassman Ben Nayokpuk, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nayokpuk has scored all season. Carl Sinnok was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Aniguiin's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Shishmaref, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Aniguiin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shishmaref, they will square off against Davis-Romoth at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Shishmaref's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matches.
