McCurdy posted their closest win since April 11th on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Wingate Bears. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Bears on Monday, they had to take a 9-4 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Karina Archuleta, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

McCurdy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive games.

McCurdy's win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Wingate, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCurdy will take on Mora at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Rangers/Rangerettes have now posted at least ten runs in their last nine matchups. As for Wingate, they will head out on the road to challenge Tohatchi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.84 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
