Basketball Recap: Arvada West Piles Up the Points Against Fairview

Arvada West entered their tilt with Fairview on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed past the Fairview Knights to the tune of 70-41. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 22 point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arvada West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Lusche, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 16 points and six boards. Lusche is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keegen Balistreri, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 19 points.

Arvada West was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairview only posted nine assists.

When it comes to explaining why Fairview lost, don't look at Toray Davis. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-7 on his way to 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds. What's more, Davis also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Spencer Brown was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Arvada West's record is now 16-5. As for Fairview, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 16-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West will head out to square off against Chatfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arvada West has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 233 points over their last three matches. As for Fairview, they will head out on the road to challenge Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frederick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
