This season hasn't been kind to Mount Pisgah Academy, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bethel Christian Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mount Pisgah Academy of the 22-21 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bethel Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexi Mendez, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Mendez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Neveah James was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Mount Pisgah Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bethel Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Pisgah Academy will take on the Kingfishers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Mountain View Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in their respective states (the Mustangs are ranked 201st in South Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 534th in North Carolina).
