Football Recap: Bozeman Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Bozeman on Friday. They put the hurt on the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers with a sharp 35-12 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Bozeman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayden Gay out in front who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 47 yards. Gay's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bucks' success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Rylee McNeil made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Another reason for the win was Bozeman's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Jarret Gay was especially locked on to North Bay Haven Academy's QB and sacked him 3.5 times. Gay has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played. McNeil got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

North Bay Haven Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Muszynski, who threw for 247 yards and one TD while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 56 yards. Muszynski was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Fame Walker, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one score.

The win was the fourth in a row for Bozeman, bringing their record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
