Sierra Murray made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Kelsey Vernon was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Adiar, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.
Rogers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Puyallup never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Fife. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Like Rogers, Puyallup also got a great game from a two-way player: Kiera Thomas. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
In other pitching news, Kelsey Brown looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She also put up two walks, which were her first of the season.
Back at the plate, Kayla Ringenbach was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Paisley Jamison was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Rogers pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average this season. As for Puyallup, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rogers hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Puyallup struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rogers came up short against Puyallup in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
