Olathe was the  68-59 winner over Cedaredge when they last played one another  back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Olathe Pirates took  a  66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cedaredge Bruins on Friday.

Despite the  loss, Olathe had strong showings from  Elijah Gordon, who  went 5 of 9  on his way to 13 points along with seven  rebounds and three  steals, and  Isaiah Gordon, who  posted 27  points and four  steals. Elijah is  crushing it when it comes to  steals: he's   grabbed at least two every time he's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Wyatt Patterson, who  put up five  points and nine  boards.
 Even though they lost, Olathe  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 19  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least 12  offensive rebounds in three consecutive  matches.
 Cedaredge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Rylan Brooks, who  earned 23 points. Those 23  points gave  Brooks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Cruz Alejandre, who  scored eight points in addition to eight  rebounds and three  steals.
Olathe now  has a losing record at 8-9. As for Cedaredge, their win  ended  an  eight-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 4-9.
 Olathe will head out to  face off against Roaring Fork  at 7:00  p.m.  on February 7th. As for Cedaredge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  60-55  defeat against Gunnison on the 1st.
