The Willamina Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers, and things went their way on Monday too. Willamina walked away with a 38-27 victory over the Cavaliers.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willamina to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bayleigh Leno, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten steals. Leno hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Zoie Sickles, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Willamina has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Blanchet Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
Willamina won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Colton's defense has only allowed 27.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Blanchet Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
