After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mercy, Design Tech was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Jefferson Grizzlies as they made off with a 22-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Ella Lewis and Adelaide Chuang made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lewis pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Chuang tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Lewis went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Chuang went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most RBI Lewis has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Design Tech got a massive performance out of Kendall Hom, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Sonia Teismann was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one run.
Design Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .897. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted an OBP of .357.
The win got Design Tech back to even at 1-1. As for Jefferson, their record now sits at 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Design Tech will challenge El Camino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on the 20th.
