The North Fort Myers Red Knights''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 39-14 defeat at the hands of Lehigh. North Fort Myers lost against Lehigh in their previous head to head back in August of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-22 score last time.
Despite the loss, North Fort Myers still got an impressive performance from Andre Costa, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for ten yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
North Fort Myers' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.3 points per game. As for Lehigh, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
North Fort Myers will head out on the road to face off against Island Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Island Coast will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Lehigh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
