Football Recap: Narbonne Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Narbonne waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the El Camino Real Royals as they made off with a 26-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gauchos, who have now won six matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Hidayah Meadows and Shayla Rivera both made on the game. Meadows rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries while Rivera rushed for 57 yards on only five carries. The dominant performance also gave Rivera a new career-high in passing yards (63).

Narbonne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Faith Ugoje led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Narbonne's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for El Camino Real, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Narbonne will host San Pedro at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so the Gauchos' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for El Camino Real, they will face off against North Hollywood at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
