Baseball Recap: Berlin Beats Southington for Their Third Straight Victory

Berlin barely beat Southington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redcoats put the hurt on the Blue Knights with a sharp 9-2 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Redcoats, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Berlin's third in a row) raised their record to 13-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Southington, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berlin will venture away from home to face off against South Windsor at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southington, they will head out to square off against Bristol Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
