The Piscataquis Pirates waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They escaped with a win against Dexter by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Piscataquis also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Dexter saw an underclassman step up: Kody Kimball scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Doherty, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Piscataquis' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Dexter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piscataquis will take on the Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dexter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Schenck will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
