The Pinnacle Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 47-31 win over Merit Preparatory Academy. The win was just what Pinnacle needed coming off of a 54-27 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading Pinnacle to victory were Heather Kerr and Jostyn McLean. Kerr dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while McLean dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which McLean has scored at least 25% of Pinnacle's points.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mary Moody, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Moody pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ayla Coltharp was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Pinnacle now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8-1.
Pinnacle will be home for the holidays to greet Tintic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Merit Preparatory Academy is on the road again on Saturday and play against Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Wayne is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50 points per game.
