Caruthersville has been on the road for seven straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cairo Pilots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Caruthersville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Cairo likes a good challenge.
Caruthersville pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Graves County.
Cairo can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Thompsonville by a score of 67-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cairo can attribute much of their success to Jeserick Pilgram, who scored 19 points, and McKenlee Pirtle, who scored 25 points.
Caruthersville's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Cairo, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Everything came up roses for Caruthersville against Cairo in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 81-37 victory. Will Caruthersville repeat their success, or does Cairo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
