Northeastern is 0-10 against West Jefferson since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Northeastern Jets will be playing at home against the West Jefferson Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. Northeastern is out to stop a 20-game streak of losses at home.
Northeastern suffered their biggest defeat since December 20, 2023 on Monday. They were dealt a 57-28 loss at the hands of Madison Plains. Northeastern has not had much luck with Madison Plains recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaelynn Bobst, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Pollock, who scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, West Jefferson earned a 43-36 win over Madison Plains on Tuesday.
Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for West Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.
Northeastern took a serious blow against West Jefferson in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 65-19. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northeastern was down 43-14.
