The Rapides Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Grace Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rapides scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Alexandria Country Day 92-17 at home. Rapides has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.
Rapides' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sheldrick Vall led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zayveian Johnson, who scored 23 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian made easy work of Alexandria Country Day on Tuesday and carried off a 54-33 win. The victory was just what Grace Christian needed coming off of a 66-29 defeat in their prior game.
The win was the third in a row for Rapides, bringing their record for this year to 20-11. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 56.7 points. As for Grace Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15.
Everything came up roses for Rapides against Grace Christian when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 63-14 victory. Will Rapides repeat their success, or does Grace Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
