The Reading Red KNights fell victim to the Manheim Township Blue Streaks''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Blue Streaks on the road and fell 41-0. Reading's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it six in a row.
Hayden Johnson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 142 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Nicholas Palumbo was in the mix too, providing Manheim Township with two touchdowns.
Reading's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. As for Manheim Township, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Reading will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Central York at 7:00 p.m. Central York comes into the match much higher ranked than Reading in Pennsylvania (Central York is ranked 34th, while Reading is ranked 382nd). As for Manheim Township, they will head out on the road to face off against Penn Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Penn Manor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Manheim Township is ranked second).
