On Friday, The Woodbridge Raiders faced the Lake Forest Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Woodbridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 win over Lake Forest. For Woodbridge, this counts as revenge for the 58-14 defeat Lake Forest walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Traci Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Although Lake Forest took the loss, they still got scores from Ayden Young and Darius Miller.
Woodbridge's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Lake Forest, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodbridge is on the road again on Friday and play against Sussex Tech. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Sussex Tech is ranked 31st, while Woodbridge is ranked 19th). As for Lake Forest, they will head out on the road to face off against Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
