Eastern Kansas recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Eastern Kansas this week, Gardner-Edgerton beat Northwest 56-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Bishop Miege took down Aquinas 50-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Gardner-Edgerton's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jared Hobby threw for 159 and 1 touchdown and Jaylon Radel had 85 yards receiving. On the ground Traevohn Wrench contributed 220 yards. Deontre Kendrick helped Gardner-Edgerton's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 40 yards.
Wrench was a beast in the backfield as Marvin Diener's team beat the Ravens.
Wrench provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Trailblazers beat Northwest. Wrench's favorite target this week was Radel, who caught 5 passes for 85 yards.
Hobby put up the best numbers through the air as Gardner-Edgerton topped Todd Dain's team.
Gardner-Edgerton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trailblazers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hobby has thrown for 1,588 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Radel has 31 catches for 567 yards.
Blue Valley North made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,354 from 8,006. The improvement was the result of a 41-17 victory over the Mustangs last week.
