The Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Danvers 71-44 on the road. Given Peabody Veterans Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Danvers is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Metivier, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Metivier has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Scarpaci, who scored eight points.
Peabody Veterans Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Danvers, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peabody Veterans Memorial will take on Beverly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beverly has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 329 points over their last five contests. As for Danvers, they will be playing at home against Bishop Fenwick at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Fenwick is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
