Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but McGavock had to settle for a 62-59 defeat against Cane Ridge on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), McGavock still had to take the loss.
Hillsboro is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for McGavock, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
Everything came up roses for Hillsboro against McGavock when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 62-17 win. With Hillsboro ahead 30-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
