Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi, Texas) trailed
Leander (Texas) by 17 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 29-27 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Joseph Lendo touchdown run, the Lions went into halftime with a 20-17 lead. The Hornets took the lead for good with a passing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Flour Bluff still trailed by 3 points going into the fourth quarter. But 12 points in the fourth helped FB pull out the victory.
The loss came as a surprise for Leander, which entered the game ranked No. 19 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Texas, while the Corpus Christi school was ranked No. 202. LHS came into the game having won zero of the past two games between the two teams.
Dylan Bauer played well for the Lions. He ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to eight on the year.
