It's playoff time, and Watauga had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Ragsdale Tigers 6-4. The victory was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Evan Burroughs was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Daniel Jones tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
