Basketball Recap: Julius Brower's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Linfield Christian over Chaminade

Linfield Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-50 to the Chaminade Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Eagles are ranked 58th).

Linfield Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julius Brower, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The matchup was Brower's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Jonas Thurman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds for Chaminade. What's more, Thurman also racked up five assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Anthony Magee was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Linfield Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Chaminade, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Linfield Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-47 defeat against St. Louis on the 27th. As for Chaminade, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-53 win against Laguna Creek on the 27th.
