After three games on the road, Roosevelt is heading back home. They will take on the Anacostia Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Indians like a good challenge.
Last Friday, Roosevelt faced the Trainers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Roosevelt came out on top against the Trainers by a score of 79-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamall Price, Jr., who scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jawuan Carter, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Anacostia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against McKinley Tech, falling 58-31.
Roosevelt pushed their record up to 17-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Anacostia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid win over the Indians in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 72-63. Will Roosevelt repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
