It was a good run, but the Grace Prep Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-38 loss at the hands of Lake Country Christian. While losing is never fun, Grace Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Lake Country Christian is ranked 130th).
Grace Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyley Mclean, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. Sophie Jordan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Grace Prep's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Lake Country Christian, they pushed their record up to 23-2 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Trinity Christian the next time they take the court. Lake Country Christian will head out to face Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Grace Prep will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
