Woodgrove is a perfect 8-0 against John Champe since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Woodgrove has four straight wins, John Champe has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Woodgrove's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Heritage 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Woodgrove got a great performance from Virginia Dowell as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Dowell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addie McCullers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Davis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Woodgrove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .586. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, John Champe didn't have quite enough to beat Dominion on Friday and fell 12-11. Even if the Knights couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Victoria Katilius made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Ally Schwarz was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run and one double.
Woodgrove's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for John Champe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
John Champe's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Woodgrove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. It's a different story for John Champe, though, as they've only averaged .326. Will they be able to contain Woodgrove's hitters?
