The Western Reserve Roughriders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past South Central with points to spare, taking the game 76-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gunner Ray, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston June, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Western Reserve has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for South Central, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Reserve will challenge Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Margaretta at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Margaretta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Central in Ohio (Margaretta is ranked 72nd, while South Central is ranked 806th).
