The Mascoutah Indians will square off against the O'Fallon Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mascoutah is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
If Mascoutah beats O'Fallon with five runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Indians beat Triad on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3.
Faith Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaila Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask O'Fallon). They put the hurt on East St. Louis with a sharp 20-1 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Kennedy Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark was also big at the plate, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Ali Frickleton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Haylee Williams, who went 2-for-3 with four runs.
O'Fallon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .576. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for O'Fallon and bumps their season record up to 12-15. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Mascoutah, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mascoutah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like O'Fallon struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mascoutah came out on top in a nail-biter against O'Fallon in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
