Centreville is 6-1 against South Lakes since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Centreville Wildcats will be playing at home against the South Lakes Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Centreville: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while South Lakes has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Centreville was the victim of a rough 37-14 loss at the hands of Chantilly.
Centreville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jourdan Simpson, who picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Will Shields who threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, South Lakes faced James Madison in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Lakes snuck past James Madison with a 12-7 win on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Harris, who threw for 235 yards and a touchdown. Brian Kennedy was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Chantilly's win bumped their season record to 4-4 while Centreville's defeat dropped theirs to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Centreville against South Lakes when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 46-6 victory. Will Centreville repeat their success, or does South Lakes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
