The Winner Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 64-46. Winning may never get old, but Winner sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Winner's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Barfuss, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ryder Halligan, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dayson Kennedy, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Veaux, who scored five points.
Winner pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Winner will head out on the road to square off against St. Francis Indian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis Indian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will be playing at home against McLaughlin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.
