Linton-Stockton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Evansville Memorial Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Linton-Stockton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Linton-Stockton greeted the New Year with with a 49-34 win over Vincennes Rivet.
Meanwhile, Evansville Memorial entered their tilt with Castle with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Evansville Memorial came out on top against Castle by a score of 66-58 on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Evansville Memorial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Kelley led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Myla Browning was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Linton-Stockton has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Evansville Memorial, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Linton-Stockton came up short against Evansville Memorial in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 51-44. Can Linton-Stockton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
