Basketball Recap: Hurley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bayfield

There's no place like home for Hurley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Bayfield Trollers on Monday as the Hurley Northstars made off with a 78-57 win. The Northstars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bayfield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Larry Lapointe, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lapointe a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxwell Gordon, who put up seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and six blocks.

The victory got Hurley back to even at 2-2. As for Bayfield, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hurley will host Lac Courte Oreilles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bayfield, they will welcome South Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bayfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.8 points per game this season.
