The Destin Sharks will head out on the road to challenge the Pensacola Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Destin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Destin after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 8-5 to Freeport. The Sharks have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Aspen Benscoter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Keelie Ellis and Anita Palmer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ellis went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Palmer went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Pensacola came into Tuesday's contest having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Booker T. Washington 15-3 on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024 (when they won 17-2).
Pensacola also let their pitcher toss all five innings played and she was also dialed-in: Sydney Jauncey gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Pensacola let Reigna Robinson and Mariell Jones run wild. Robinson went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Jones got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Robinson has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Howard, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Pensacola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Booker T. Washington only posted an OBP of .320.
Pensacola's record is now 3-16. As for Destin, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Pensacola's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Destin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Pensacola, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Destin's hitters?
Everything went Destin's way against Pensacola when the teams last played back in March, as Destin made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
