Baseball Recap: Morgan Beats Old Lyme for Their Third Straight Win

Morgan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Old Lyme Wildcats with a sharp 18-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Wyatt Luke was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Benji Brown was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Morgan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Morgan's record now sits at 10-3. As for Old Lyme, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Morgan will venture away from home to take on Portland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies are facing the Highlanders at the right time seeing as the Highlanders are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Old Lyme, they will welcome Cromwell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
