The Braswell Bengals''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Prosper at home by a decisive 38-21 margin. While losing is never fun, Braswell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Prosper is ranked 11th).
Several Bengals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Moses Adelowo, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Adelowo was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Shipp, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Leading Prosper to victory were Nathan Tenbarge and Bryce Robinson. Tenbarge only threw for 101 passing yards and failed to score a touchdown, while Robinson rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Braswell has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Prosper, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Braswell will head out on the road to face off against Little Elm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Little Elm is on a four-game streak of home losses, Braswell a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Prosper will take on Allen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
