The Adena Warriors will head out to face off against the Chillicothe Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Adena 3.7, Chillicothe 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Chillicothe will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Adena extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. Everything went the Warriors' way against River Valley as they made off with a 15-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Addy Cottrill made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Marly Halcomb and Adriana Guarnieri did most of the damage at the plate: Halcomb went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs, while Guarnieri scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, Guarnieri is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Katt Ebright also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Adena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Chillicothe put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Miami Trace.
CAMBRIANA RITTINGER spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on ALYSSA DUDLEY, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of VIVIAN MORGAN, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Adena's record now sits at 6-1. As for Chillicothe, their record is now 5-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Adena has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chillicothe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Adena couldn't quite get it done against Chillicothe in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
