Isle of Wight Academy (Isle of Wight, Va.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Fuqua (Farmville, Va.), 35-8, on Saturday.
The Chargers were up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Brandon Saxby touchdown pass to
Gage Rogers in the second quarter.
Isle of Wight Academy expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. IWA scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Matt Brummett.
The Isle of Wight school's most effective player was Saxby. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
The Falcons' lone touchdown came on a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 41-6 win for the Chargers.
With the win Isle of Wight Academy extended its winning streak to four games.
In a non-conference game next week Isle of Wight Academy (4-1) takes on Broadwater Academy, and Fuqua (1-4) will go up against Victory Christian Academy also in a non-conference game.
