Millard North waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Belleville East Lancers a 4-0 shutout.
Cam Johnson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Braydan Weindel was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Burke, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Millard North's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Belleville East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Coincidentally, Millard North and Belleville East will both be playing Woodridge the next time they take the field. The Lancers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
