Northern is 9-1 against Hancock since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Northern Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hancock Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Northern came up short against Southern and fell 61-49. Northern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Hancock's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 98-84 fall against Turkeyfoot Valley Area. Even though they lost, Hancock's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.4 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jacob Anderson, who scored 18 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Demory, who scored nine points along with ten assists and seven rebounds.
Northern has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Hancock, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Northern took their win against Hancock in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 66-40. Does Northern have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hancock turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
