Riverdale will challenge Haynes Academy on the road at 6:30 PM on Thursday. Riverdale have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Riverdale had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Grace King last Thursday as they made off with a 42-12 victory. With Riverdale ahead 28-0, the matchup was all but decided by halftime.
Meanwhile, Haynes Academy had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They fell to Thomas Jefferson 15-22.
Riverdale's win lifted them to 1-0 while Haynes Academy's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Riverdale can add another positive mark to their record or if Haynes Academy can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Riverdale's step.
