After three games on the road, Freedom is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Freedom came up short against Northampton and fell 47-35. While losing is never fun, Freedom can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while Northampton is ranked 123rd).
Meanwhile, East Stroudsburg North was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-42 to Stroudsburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East Stroudsburg North has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, East Stroudsburg North had strong showings from Nate Wilder, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Bernard Bowen III, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The game was Wilder's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryceson Dobie, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Freedom has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for East Stroudsburg North, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Freedom against East Stroudsburg North in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 as the squad secured a 76-46 win. Will Freedom repeat their success, or does East Stroudsburg North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
