The J.H. Rose Rampants will head out on the road to take on the West Carteret Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
J.H. Rose made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ayden - Grifton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. J.H. Rose beat Ayden - Grifton on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. Fans of the Rampants have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Santana Sneed made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Clara Allen and Michelle Jenkins did most of the damage at the plate: Allen scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4, while Jenkins went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one triple. Peyton James was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
J.H. Rose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, everything went West Carteret's way against North Pitt on Tuesday as West Carteret made off with an 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.
Like J.H. Rose, West Carteret also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaelyn Margoupis. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Margoupis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, West Carteret let Kyrstyn Braswell and Ella Grace Rodriguez run wild. Braswell went 2-for-3 with two triples, one run, and one RBI, while Rodriguez scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two hits gave Braswell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Saylor Gray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
J.H. Rose's record is now 3-0. As for West Carteret, their record is now 2-0.
