The West Muskingum Tornadoes lost against the Fairfield Union Falcons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. West Muskingum ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Fairfield Union.
Despite the loss, West Muskingum saw an underclassman step up: Tavin Bennett scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bennett has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Silas Bailey, who scored five points.
West Muskingum's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Fairfield Union, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Muskingum will square off against River View at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield Union and Amanda-Clearcreek will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Amanda-Clearcreek is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
