The Southeast Halifax Trojans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over Weldon. That's another feather in the cap for Southeast Halifax, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Travis Johnson Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rodney Johnson, who scored 19 points along with five assists.
Southeast Halifax's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points per game. As for Weldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Southeast Halifax will head out on the road to face off against the Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP P knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully the Trojans likes a good challenge. As for Weldon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m.
