Bayshore is 0-5 against Manatee since March of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Bruins will take on the Hurricanes at 12:00 p.m. Bayshore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Last Thursday, Bayshore made easy work of Gibbs and carried off an 18-2 victory. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Henrique Perdomo made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perdomo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Bayshore is 5-1 when Perdomo posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Kaylam Rodriguez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Carsen Smalley was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Bayshore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Manatee was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Palmetto, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hurricanes have suffered against the Tigers since May 5, 2022.
Manatee also got a good showing from Malachi Cleto, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cleto has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Manatee saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Hovda, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Bayshore's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Manatee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bayshore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manatee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bayshore suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Manatee when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
