Coudersport is 10-0 against Northern Potter since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coudersport Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Northern Potter Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
Last Wednesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Coudersport had to settle for a 47-44 loss against Port Allegany. Coudersport has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though Northern Potter has not done well against Smethport recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Northern Potter came out on top against Smethport by a score of 54-41. Given Northern Potter's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Smethport is ranked 586th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coudersport now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Northern Potter, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Coudersport against Northern Potter in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 69-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coudersport since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
