The Frostproof Bulldogs were the 74-69 winner over the Fort Meade Miners when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Frostproof took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Meade. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Frostproof has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Frostproof still got an impressive performance from Sevastian Rosado, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 45.1% of Frostproof's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Blakely, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Fort Meade found their leader in underclassman Omari Russell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russell has scored all season. Nasier Berrien was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Frostproof's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Fort Meade, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Frostproof will be playing at home against Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Meade won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lake Placid at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Isaiah Gonzalez and Berrien.
