The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.
Wes Greber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since April 1st. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Celina got a massive performance out of Nick Steinbrunner, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Steinbrunner has posted since back in April of 2024. Brodee Schulte-Arnold was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Celina hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The victory made it two in a row for Celina and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Elida, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
